1. Used as a methylating agent and carbonylating agent in chemical synthesis, and in the preparation of pesticide herbicides. Dimethyl carbonate is an intermediate of the herbicide asulam and also a methylating reagent.
2. Dimethyl carbonate can replace traditional toxic raw materials such as phosgene, dimethyl sulfate and methyl chloride.
3. It can be used for the non-phosgene synthesis of polycarbonate, diphenyl carbonate, isocyanate and allyl diethylene glycol carbonate; for the synthesis of various carbamate pesticides such as carbaryl; and as an organic synthesis intermediate for anisole, veratrole, alkyl arylamines, symmetrical diaminourea, methyl hydrazinecarboxylate, etc. In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used to prepare pharmaceutical intermediates such as aminooxazolidinone, ciprofloxacin and β-ketoester derivatives. In addition, it can be used as an additive for gasoline and diesel fuel, refrigerator oil and solvent.
4. Used as a methylating agent and carbonylating agent in chemical synthesis, and widely applied in antioxidants, plant protection agents and other fields. Dimethyl carbonate is an excellent methylating, carbonylating, hydroxymethylating and methoxylating agent with very reactive chemical properties. As an organic synthesis intermediate, it is widely used as a solvent in paints, coatings and adhesives.
5. Used as a methylating agent and carbonylating agent in chemical synthesis, and widely applied in food additives, antioxidants, plant protection agents and other fields.
